Style: Dani Lefrancois photography is driven by her passion for Canadian landscape. She creates breathtaking images of canadian nature that look almost unreal. Her photos can definitely be compared to the art history style of landscape paintings. A popular landscape painter that I feel she can be compared to is David Lidbetter. As you can see in the photo above David is a contemporary painter and his art almost looks like a dream. This photos of the Canadian sky and mountains is an image taken by Dani, as you can see there are similarities between Dani’s work and David’s painting. Both are contemporary because they take place in this time period and both works reflects the complex issues that shape our diverse, global, and rapidly changing world. The beauty of landscape art shows viewers how important it is to conserve our earth's precious nature. Philosophy: Dani’s main goal with her photography is to show the beauty of our earth no matter what conditions mother nature presents to us. Lefrancois shows viewers shows spaces within the world, sometimes vast and unending, but other times microscopic. Her photographs of nature tends to put a stronger emphasis on the aesthetic value of the photo than other photography genres would. She works hard to evoke memories of travel and senses experienced in a particular place and at a particular moment to viewers. Not many get to see or even realize the beauty that is seen in Canada’s rockies, a lot of people don’t view huge rocks as beautiful. Dani is changing these perceptions and is showing people how valuable even the most unknown places can be. Influences: From researching and learning about Dani Francois I have been very influenced by her level of persistence. Dani is the first one to say that being a landscape photographer isn’t easy. I’ve read many stories full of how things didn’t go exactly as planned on various excursions through the mountains she loves to photograph. I learned how tricky and also risky landscape photography can actually be. She is so driven by the challenge of being in the outdoors and capturing mother nature's elements at work. From Dani I learned that the most dramatic photos actually come with the worst weather. I felt very inspired by Dani’s attitutide and the mere astonishment her photos envoke. Landscape photography is definitely hard but I am much more patient now with my shots and when I finally get a good one I look and think of all the times I tried to get this shot but didn’t. Just like Dani Francois said, “perseverance pays off.” Photos: #1) Autumn Leaf (waterfall)- https://www.deviantart.com/dani-lefrancois/art/Autumn-Leaf-181257919 #2) Stream- https://www.danilefrancois.com/portfolio-1 #3) Lakeside Retreat(black & white)- https://www.deviantart.com/dani-lefrancois/art/Lakeside-Retreat-174613310 |
